Can I Watch the Funeral Later?
Not everyone who wants to watch a funeral service can do so at the scheduled time. Sometimes the time zone difference makes live viewing impractical. Sometimes a family member is too upset on the day to take it in, and needs time before they can watch. Sometimes someone learns about the death after the service has already taken place.
In most cases, yes, you can watch the funeral later. Here's how it works.
The Recording
Most TributeCast.NZ packages include a recording of the service. This recording is made during the live stream and becomes available through the same private link shortly after the service ends. The footage is the same, the same camera angle, the same audio, so watching the recording is as close to watching live as possible.
How Long Is the Recording Available?
The recording is hosted for a set period after the service. The exact duration depends on the package you've chosen. We'll confirm the hosting period when you book, and we'll let you know in advance when the recording is due to be removed. If you need it available for longer, contact us and we'll discuss your options.
Who Can Watch the Recording?
The recording is accessed through the same private link and password as the live stream. Anyone who has that link and password can watch during the hosting period. Access remains in your hands, you decide who can view it.
If you want to share access with additional people after the service, for example, someone who wasn't told about the death in time, you simply share the link and password with them.
What If Someone Wants to Keep It Permanently?
Some families want to download the recording so they can keep it indefinitely. Depending on your package, this may be possible. If this is important to you, mention it when you book, and we'll make sure your package includes the right options.
The Recording as a Keepsake
Many families return to the recording not just in the days after the service, but weeks and months later. Hearing a tribute again, seeing the gathering of people who loved the same person, or simply hearing someone's name said with care, these things offer real comfort in grief.
