Can I Download the Funeral Recording?

For many families, the recording of a funeral service is more than a convenience, it's something they want to keep. To watch on an anniversary. To share with someone who couldn't be reached in time. To have as a permanent record of the day their family came together to say goodbye.

TributeCast.NZ offers download options as part of our funeral live streaming packages. If you want a copy of the recording that you can keep permanently, rather than relying on the hosted version for a set period, this can be arranged.

The best thing to do is mention this when you book, so we can make sure your package includes the right provisions. It's much easier to plan for this in advance than to request it after the service.

What Format Is the Recording In?

The recording is a video file, typically in MP4 format, which is compatible with virtually all devices and video players. You'll be able to watch it on your computer, phone, tablet, or TV, and store it alongside other important files.

Storing the Recording Safely

If you download the recording, think about where you'll store it. An external hard drive or USB drive is a good option for long-term storage. You might also back it up to a cloud service, such as Google Drive, iCloud, or Dropbox, so it's not lost if your device fails.

Some families create a small digital memorial folder with photos, the funeral programme, and the video recording, a place to return to whenever they want to feel close to the person they've lost.

Sharing the Download

Once you have the downloaded file, you can share it with family members by uploading it to a shared folder or using a file transfer service. Video files can be large, so services like Google Drive, Dropbox, or WeTransfer are more practical than email for sharing them.
